Obligatory Monday Afternoon Post-Concert Post - 140621 @ Glastonbury

Most people don't have the backstory, but Glastonbury is a bit of a special place for me. It was wonderful... and painful... to go back there. However, it was completely worth it to see this particular group of bands.

Well, look, I might be a bit biased, but this is my favorite band. They are just amazing live. I have never seen the leader talk so much.... perhaps it was because Glastonbury is special to him too, or the giggling elementary-school girls there (the daughter of one of the musicians came with some of her friends), but regardless, this was the best performance I have seen by them yet. I love seeing musicians really loving what they are doing -- this really shone through for Julia Dream this show. It's tough to decide which video to singly post for you... My favorite song is (arguably) Dance Music, but the solo in 가위 was pretty much amazing...

Well... what can I say. This was the first band I was introduced to when I came to Korea last year in October. Getting to see them play live again, with new songs was really exciting. Their sound was described to me as something along the lines of "I let everyone play what they want, put in their style, but my style is kimchi style." ...I think this comes through in quite an endearing way. Their drummer is pretty exceptional, so I suggest keeping an eye on him. [Incidentally, he is also in 4hertz, so hopefully I will be seeing more of him soon]. While "Today" is still my favorite song by them, I really quite enjoyed their cover of "제발" ["Please"].
제발

Pretty much as always, Missing Lucille brought the house down with their incredible classic rock. I am always so impressed with their amazing talent. Everything they play is so tight and beautiful... I hope some day I have a fraction of the talent these guys each hold in their little fingers. CRAZY GOOD. I have no idea how else to put it.
